Responsible for delivery of developmentally appropriate educational activities to child/parents in a home based situation including: development of individually tailored programs for child/parents, maintenance of records, preparation of lesson plans, and dissemination of program information.



  • Arrange for home visit observations by supervisors as requested;
  • Provide record keeping files for monitoring as requested by supervisors;
  • Attend local staff meetings;
  • Assist parents in developing and implementing individually tailored developmental experiences which enhance their child’s language, intellectual, social/emotional, and physical development, as well as, skills in health, safety, and nutrition;
  • Maintain required records and prepare necessary reports, file or submit as directed;
  • Facilitate and provide support to parents in the planning and implementing program experiences;
  • Assist parents in seeking out resources to meet their families needs and/or interests;
  • Document parent involvement/input;
  • Assist parents and children in the design, preparation, and implementation of Group Experience and other group activities;
  • Assist in the overall maintenance of the Group Experience site;
  • Participate in all pre-service, in-service, and orientation programs arranged for staff;
  • Act as a program/family/child advocate;
  • Maintain a positive image of Head Start in the local community;
  • Meet program needs through the coordination of efforts with component staff and other persons relative to the delivery of services - including support services to families, unique service to special needs children, and the overall management of the local program;
  • Pursue an individually tailored self-development program, including attending available trainings and reading pertinent articles on early childhood education;
  • Must maintain confidentiality of program and family issues.

CDA certificate and/or Associates Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education or 60 college credits with at least 12 in early childhood education is required. 1 – 3 years experience in child care or early childhood education is preferred.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Employees in this position must possess reliable transportation and a valid driver license and an up to date CDA certificate.

This position will be located in Montmorency County, Michigan.
Working 40 hours per week; $11.12 - $15.41 per hour, including the following benefits:
